Bradnam Joinery...
Bradnam Joinery is well known for its range of high quality veneered and solid coffins. Ten years ago the firm underwent a substantial upheaval when Jack Bradnam retired and sold up to a management team of five long serving employees.
A lot has happened in those ten years. Two of them left the company and a third, Vic Dashwood tragically died from cancer in 2008. March 2009 saw the retirement of Bill Robins leaving only one of the original management team — Bob Spittle - who is now the sole shareholder and Managing Director of the firm.
Three years ago Bob was joined by his son David who started as a production operative. He is gaining experience and knowledge by working on the factory floor in various roles and he currently runs the solid coffin department. The company has now come full circle and can once again be called a family.
They are both now part of a new team which is now placed to take the company forward, as it seeks not only to support existing brands, but also push forward into other areas.
Bradnams range of coffins is extensive and includes the renowned Italian Repatriation coffin, environmentally friendly models made from willow and cardboard, a collection of contemporary printed designs. They also hold a wide range of ashes caskets, grave markers, soft goods and countless sundry items. As well as their own vast range, they are also agents for the prestigious US casket manufacturer, Batesville Caskets, who have been supplying to the American market for over 100 years.
With a fleet of four lorries and four small vans they pride themselves on a prompt and efficient delivery service. Main orders are delivered in five working days the majority of the year, with special orders being delivered in two to three working days, usually at no extra charge.
With business booming the company is looking forward with great enthusiasm to the future. The team is in place, new projects are afloat - this is a company on the move.
